Our musical entertainment!
Featured Musicians
We will have live music from 12 noon through the evening with local musicians as well as one of our own...The Flying Sulsers!
12-1 pm: Bees in the Barn
with August Eriksmoen, Jordan Shapiro, Nate Allen and Chelsea Needham.
1:30-2:30 pm: Eva Salina and Matthew Schreiber.
Eva and Matt will sing and play beloved well and less-known songs from the Balkans on accordion and voice. Both Eva and Matt are long-term members of the American Balkan music and dance community. They are happy to share these songs with folk music and wool enthusiasts, as sheep play a large role in the cultures and communities from which these songs originate, and have even sonically impacted the ornamentation styles of the songs and instruments.
3-4 Pulso de Barro:
Pulso de Barro explores folk music, dance, and poetry along with the native traditions of our lineages. Since we are the result of a cultural syncretism of the different territories where we come from, we seek to give space to our multifaceted identities. With a focus on traditional Son Jarocho music from Mexico and various other genres from the Caribbean and Latin America, Pulso de Barro supports and encourages the recognition of music as a vital part of the articulation of communities. We believe that the countless stories of our territories are embodied in the creative flow. From this place we learn to coexist reciprocally with nature and re-imagine our future.
6-9 pm: The flying Sulsers!
Not only are they the talented dyers behind Little Fox Yarn, Aimee & Brian Sulser also perform as their musical alter ego the Flying Sulsers. They delight audiences with their infectious mix of songs spanning the 20th century of music, including Tin Pan Alley, the Great American Songbook, Classic Country and a little Rock and Roll too. They are delighted to be returning to the second annual Woolen Affair after party, also featuring the return of special guests and accomplished local musicians Harvey Sorgen on drums and Matt Fink on guitar. Bring your dancing shoes, plenty of smiles and leave your worries behind. A good time will be had by all!
